Course Director

Tamara Kaplan , MD

A distinguished medical educator at HMS and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, holds a number of educational leadership positions that span the entire range of our learners: She is the course director for Mind Brain and Behavior in the Pathways preclerkship curriculum, she is a site director for the required four-week neurology core clerkship in the Principal Clinical Experience year, and she serves as the vice chair for education in her clinical department, a role in which she interfaces with graduate medical education.

Galina Gheihman, MD

A neurologist specializing in outpatient care and resident supervision on inpatient services. Originally from Toronto, she earned her medical degree from Harvard Medical School and completed her residency at MGB, serving as Chief Resident in 2023-2024.

She has led initiatives like the acute neurology simulation program, co-founded the BRAINS program for bedside teaching, and established the NeuEJM medical education journal club. Additionally, she developed the Outpatient Neurology series, launched the Mental Health and Well-being Survey, and introduced the Well-Rounded Wednesdays curriculum.

As a faculty member, Dr. Gheihman serves as a PCE Advisor at Harvard Medical School, co-director of the “Neurology for the Non-Neurologist” CME course, and a member of the HMS Taskforce for the Teaching Faculty Experience. Her work reflects a deep commitment to advancing neurology education and resident training.

After participating in this activity, clinicians should be able to:
